Just had dinner and the kids are out the door. It's so nice to know that they are safe at this new location. I am so thankful to God for all the many blessings this year. The blessings are still coming too. I need to know what to do...

I just spent an hour skyping with a school district to teach them how to integrate wikis, blogs, and podcasts! It is awesome.
This is just a test to see if I can post to my blog from my phone!

Loving the New Home

So, we recently moved to a new home and left the hustle and bustle of Downingtown, PA. Not that there was anything wrong with D-Town, on the contrary, Downingtown was a great place to live...if I were single or just married. I have two kids now, and I need to have wide open spaces for them to roam. In Downingtown, I was constantly worried about them if they went out to play. We lived on a main road that was so busy. The cars flew up and down the road as well. The backyard was nice for the most part, except that many times the river would flood leaving no where to play. So now, we have over an acre with an in-ground pool. Plenty of room to roam! The kids love it, and so do we. We have nicknamed it the "cabin" because it's very "vacation home-ish". We have four bedrooms so guests are invited! We sit out on the deck at night and can see millions of stars; we hear crickets and locust. It is beautiful and serene.

Cell Phones

It is so incredibly sad that I was mourning my data package today. No, I know that Farrah, Ed, and MJ all died today. That was sad as well. I'm sorry to see them go. I pray for their families and the pain they will all feel, but I am grieving too. I had to cancel my data package today on my treo! Why you ask? Two reasons, first, I am trying to buy a new house and am cutting costs everywhere. Second, I was outside with my children playing with the house and I got mad at my son when he tried to spray me with the hose because I was looking at my facebook account at that moment. Yes, this is not one of my brighter moments. Why did I even take the phone outside with me? I am "tethered to technology". When my kids and I play the game, "I love you a million...." and I say to them a million lightening bugs and my son says to me a million phones and computers...well it's time to cut the ties that bind. So I did it. I cancelled my package and cannot access my email or facebook from my cell phone any more. (I still have unlimited texting though...don't fret!)

Summer in D-Town

Well, the summer has finally begun. I am staying home with the kids and my husband! Yes, I said my husband. He's been a house-husband since November when he lost his job. At first, I thought it would be weird, but in all actuality, it's been fantastic. He is a good cleaner and cook...who knew. This summer will be the tell-tale though. If we can all be home at the same time, then we really must love each other, right! :-) We are also trying to purchase a house in Atglen and will spend much of our time boxing up things. Got to go...

Merry Christmas!

Okay, so it's been a while since I've posted anything here. My new job has kept me pretty busy, but in a good way. Things around our home have also been chaotic. Last week we had a flood from the river out back. It came into the house and ruined everything that was in the basement. Luckily, we have insurance and it was covered. Here's a photo of the water in the basement.

I'm so blessed though to have a husband who is now home with the kids. I was worried about it originally, but it's turning out better than I could have planned. The flood was okay because he was home and could clean it up and deal with the insurance company. I am so excited to have him home for the holidays. This will be the first time since we've been together that we will have the entire holiday season off together. We were both talking about how excited we were to spend it together with the kids this year. We have already celebrated my gram's 85th birthday with the family. It was awesome.

I look forward to spending time just chillin' around the house with the kids for two weeks. We really have no place to be this season for the most part and that feels really good. I am so blessed and thankful.
